The Heavenly Treasure Hunt

On a treasure hunt to finding your heart (Treasures in Heaven), your first step is to look up Matthew 6:20-21. Then you will need to learn the 21 tips on How to be Generous starting with grace so that you know your journey is already paid for. It is by grace that we are saved to be able to complete our heavenly hunt. We cannot earn our way - John 3:16.

Be aware, as you look at the map, that the verses on it will be essential to reaching your treasure. Now you need to look up Luke 18:18-23.

The Trail

Once on the trail, you may need to stop for a short rest to read the children’s book Little Hands Helping, A story about the importance of giving at a young age. By empowering our children by giving them the gift of giving, the natural outflow of the Kingdom Marketplace will be that children living in countries with extreme poverty will be equipped with skills so that they, in turn, can break the cycle of poverty for the generations to come.

Mount Calvary

As you make your way through Mount Calvary, you will need to pick up your cross and your cross necklace. Then you will explore the pictures of the past that include the three things that matter most - your faith, family and friends.

Valley of the Shadow of Death

As you approach the Valley of the Shadow of Death, you may want to reach out to your family and friends with a greeting card from your heart. You can always find Daily Hope by reading your devotional each morning. 

The Forest

If all else fails, venture into the forest where you will find a list of books that you can read that will take you closer to the treasures that you seek. On your way, you will want to keep a generosity journal, something that you can share with your family and friends for generations. It will offer you the valuable insight that you will need to finish your journey. 

The Well

At the well, you will meet a small child. To complete your journey, you will need a partner. When you sponsor a child, you will have a partner for life. Jesus loved children; He called a little child to Him and placed the child on His lap. And He said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. Children are our gateway to heaven."

The River

At the river, you will find a sharing bank which will offer you the means to help a child and keep you on your journey. You will need to save, share and spend with generosity in mind. "One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered." To complete your journey you will need to spend your money on gifts that give back. Find a cause that is close to your heart, and you will find that your spending will really matter.

The Throne

On the last part of your journey, you will soon reach the five crowns which will be your reward for your works - the products of our faith here on earth. Before you can move on, everything that you are carrying must be put through the flames. What is not burned away will take you to the final part of your journey - the throne of the king where all your treasures will be awarded according to what you did on your li
