TELL YOUR STORY
Are you looking for a deeper more intimate relationship with Jesus? Do you want to experience His love firsthand? Then it’s time that you start to share with family and friends your personal story of His love that will continue for generations. Jesus wants you to "Tell Your Story" about the amazing and ultimate love that He has for you. Your story is His Story. Here is a good article in the publication By Faith called "What's Your Story?"
Why Storytelling?
"And He was not speaking to them apart from a parable. But He was explaining everything privately to His disciples Mark 4:3 Jesus explains that the parables act as a gateway. Those who have no wish to dive below the surface are free to go on their way, while those who are drawn in by the simple stories will receive answers to their questions, answers which will eventually lead to love and forgiveness. The reason for this was sought by His disciples, and the Lord explained it when He said, “To you has been given the mystery of the Kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables” Mark 4:11 Discipleship brings one into a level of intimacy with the Lord that others cannot experience. As in John 15:15, it is to His intimate friends that His intimate secrets are revealed. It's the simple stories that draw people in to be disciples of Jesus!
Telling Your Story Can Be Simple, Real, and Freeing!
Look for Jesus from sunrise to sunset. From the valley to the mountain top. Don’t be surprised if you feel His presence more on the days you are in the deep dark valleys. And when you do, be sure to tell your story about the ultimate love He has for us as you reach the mountains.
After writing my series of stories, God placed it in my heart to help and encourage my family and friends to write their own stories. I can't guarantee that how I wrote my story will work for you. All I can offer you are some storytelling tips and the words of Jesus as a guide.
You can start with a simple love letter. Write each one of your family a love letter telling them about the ultimate love of Jesus sharing with them how you have seen that same kind of love in them. Be real with them and know that you may need to be fervent as well. The second step is to start a simple journal, a Jesus journal to help you write your story that includes daily reflections, prayers, and even bible verses. But if it’s anything like my story, each day offers unexpected twists and turns on the road. Personal encounters through daily devotionals, meditation, prayer, confessions, worship, church community, personal conversations, articles, songs, imagination, dreams, hobbies, praise, and the Holy Spirit are all part of the journey. Remember this is your story so you can tell it any way you want.
